Joanna Smith

Managing Director, Senior Consultant, Workplace Learning

Joanna is passionate about improving workplace learning. She worked for a number of years as a senior manager in the IT industry, responsible for People and Capability. She totally gets what it's like when the business comes and says "We need training!" The first step is always to focus on the business goals, and determine what the most effective course of action should be. Joanna's early career was spent in tertiary language teaching and teacher training, so she has a soft spot for the language teaching industry. She started  Pukeko Learning Solutions in 2016 and alongside designing effective learning solutions for other organisations, she and the team also work on their internal brand, Language Fuel. Joanna is currently president of New Zealand Association for Training and Development.
